Por volta das 20h00, deste sábado, 28 de dezembro, um acidente com várias vítimas fatais envolvendo um ônibus que saiu de Vilhena e uma carreta bloquearam a BR-364 a 52 Km, próximo ao Hotel Fazenda Ávila.
De acordo com uma testemunha, um carro que seguia no sentido Vilhena estaria bem devagar na BR, euma carreta que vinha atrás precisou frear bruscamente e perdeu o controle, e acabou indo para a pista contrária, atingindo de frente um ônibus da empresa Transbrasil, que tinha saído de Vilhena havia cerca de 40 minutos, por volta das 19h20. Chovia no momento do acidente.
Informações extra-oficiais computam mais de 4 mortos no acidente, o motorista do ônibus da Transbrasil e três ocupantes da carreta. Há registro de dezenas de feridos que estão sendo levados para o Hospital Regional de Vilhena.
A BR-364 está bloqueada no momento e deverá permanecer até ao amanhecer fechada.
